Remote People is a high-performing, trustworthy EOR partner, especially for startups and remote-first teams that prioritize long-term compliance and responsive service over flashy software.
Who Are Remote People?
Remote People are global Employer of Record (EOR) and HR solutions providers, focused on helping distributed teams hire, manage, and support talent across borders. In a world increasingly shifting toward remote-first hiring, Remote People promises to handle the legal, payroll, compliance, and benefits side of remote employment so you don’t have to.
Having worked in the industry for many years, with a range of providers, here is my honest take on Remote People EOR services.
Key Features
1. Remote Hiring & Onboarding Experience
Remote People handles the full lifecycle of hiring across borders: contractor agreements, full-time EOR employment, benefits administration, and local compliance.
Remote People take over all legal responsibilities, draft contracts in the required language, and ensure compliance with labor regulations.
Their client success team walk clients through what they need to submit, advised on expected timelines, and coordinate with other HR partners.
2. Platform & Tools
RemotePeople’s platform is lean but functional. It’s not a flashy HRIS like some newer players, but it’s focused and practical. We could:
- View and download employment contracts
- Manage payroll and invoices
- See benefits summaries by region
- Track contract status and active employees
- Submit tickets for HR/legal questions
Their dashboards and document management aren’t fancy, but they’re clean, fast, and mobile-friendly. No bloat. That said, reporting could be more robust. We often had to request custom exports for compensation breakdowns or headcount summaries.
The real value is in the service behind the software. Their tech doesn’t try to be the center of our universe. They integrate well through API and custom exports when needed.
3. Client Support
This is one of RemotePeople’s strongest suits. Clients have a dedicated account manager and a responsive regional support team. Questions about labor law in Brazil? They’ll respond within a day, sometimes within hours, with direct, actionable answers.
Need to revise a benefits offering in Mexico? They will walk you through what’s allowed and even suggest market-competitive options.
4. Global Payroll & Benefits
Remote People runs payroll locally, primarily through its own owned-infrastructure. That means employees get paid in local currency, with taxes and contributions handled automatically.
They offer customizable benefits packages by region, often including health insurance, paid leave, and local perks like meal vouchers or gym stipends.
Remote People work with companies to scale benefits based on budget, for example, offering top-tier plans in higher-cost markets while using leaner packages elsewhere.
One caveat: benefits setup can take one to a couple of weeks, depending on the country. It’s best to plan 30 to 45 days ahead if you’re hiring in a new market.
5. Compliance & Risk Mitigation
Staying compliant in multiple countries is exactly why clients choose Remote People. They ensure employment contracts are localized and up-to-date with labor law. They handle employer contributions, tax filings, and termination procedures according to local norms.
They are conservative when necessary. If something is in a gray area (like offering stock options or crypto payments abroad), they’ll warn you. That may frustrate some high-growth startups that want to move fast, but for long-term compliance, it’s the right approach.
6. Contractor Management
Reviews on platforms like G2 show that client companies are happy with the Remote People contractor payment service: Agreements are professional, customizable, and localized. Payouts are sent on time through international payment services like Wise, Payoneer, or local bank transfers. They support clients with compliant invoices and collect W-8BEN forms where needed.
That said, if you’re hiring hundreds of contractors, their tooling might feel lightweight compared to dedicated contractor platforms like Deel or Remote.com. For 10 to 30 contractors, it’s perfect. For 300 or more, you may want more automation.

Pricing & Value
Remote People’s pricing is transparent and relatively low. With prices starting from $199 per employee per month for EOR services, no global EOR is cheaper.
Where they shine is in having no hidden fees. No surprise onboarding charges, no “priority support” upsells. You pay the agreed rate and you get a team that actually delivers.
| EOR | $199+ / employee / month |
| Contractors | $29+ / contractor / month |
| Full Service Payroll | by custom quote |
| Recruitment | 20% of annual salary |
| Executive Search | 25% of annual salary |
Company Values & Culture
Remote People is clearly mission-driven. Their communication with both clients and employees is inclusive, respectful, and people-first. Our remote team members felt like they were hired by a serious company, not just plugged into a spreadsheet.
They’re not trying to be flashy. They’re trying to be reliable. And in the often-chaotic world of global employment, that counts for a lot.
They also emphasize ethical employment: no sketchy contractor misclassification, no workarounds that skirt legal obligations. That aligns with how we want to build our company, responsibly, transparently, and sustainably.
Remote People Reviews
We looked at RemotePeople reviews and scores on Trustpilot and G2. The average scores (as of the time of writing) were:
- Trustpilot = 4.8 (48 reviews)
- G2 = 5/5 (392 reviews).
It should be observed that the reviews were largely positive, with the small number of reviews meaning that lower ratings significantly brought down the average.
Pros and Cons
Choosing the right EOR provider is a balancing act — each provider has its advantages and disadvantages, and it is up to you to choose the EOR company that best suits your needs.
RemotePeople Pros and Cons
| Pros | Cons |
|---|---|
| Pricing: At $199+ per employee, with no hidden fees, no other EOR is cheaper. | Slightly limited reporting/analytics: Does not have the same analytics capability of large providers like Rippling or Deel. |
| Ease of Use: Remote People currently holds the G2 award as best EOR for Ease of Use. | Lack of Integrations: Does not have the hundreds of integrations that some of the more established players have. |
| Add Ons: Recruitment, executive search and visas all managed in house. |
RemotePeople Unique selling point
With low and transparent pricing, its focus on the customer experience and extensive add-ons like recruitment, Remote People is the ideal full-service hiring partner for SMEs and startups.

Remote People — Our Take
Would I recommend RemotePeople to global, remote-first companies? Yes, especially if you care about compliance, responsive support, and effortless hiring at scale.
They may not have the most hyped brand or the most advanced platform UI, but what they lack in flash, they more than make up for in substance.
They’re ideal for startups and mid-sized companies hiring 5 to 100 people internationally who want a partner that’s ethical, experienced, and genuinely helpful. If you’re a fast-scaling enterprise, they’ll still serve you well, but you may want to confirm they can scale alongside you in edge regions.
